Psychologist | Specializing in Childhood Anxiety & OCD
My Approach to Working with Families
I believe that every child has the capacity to overcome anxiety and OCD when given the right tools and support. My approach combines evidence-based treatments, like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure/Response Prevention, with genuine connection and partnership with both kids and their families.
Anxiety and OCD can take over a child's life, affecting school, friendships, and family relationships. I've seen firsthand how these challenges can lead to school avoidance, social isolation, and family stress. But I've also seen how young people can reclaim their lives when they learn practical skills and face their fears with support.
I don't just work with the child. I work with the whole family. Parents and caregivers are crucial partners in this process, and I'm here to help you understand what's happening, respond effectively, and support your child's progress at home.
Why I Do This Work
I became a psychologist because I wanted to help kids and families better understand challenges like anxiety and OCD, conditions that are highly treatable with the right approach. There's nothing more meaningful than watching a child who has felt stuck in worry or rituals slowly begin to feel more free, capable, and confident.
I also truly value partnering with parents. Many families come to me feeling exhausted or unsure of what to do next. You don't have to figure it out alone. I'm here to guide, support, and work alongside you in helping your child thrive.
Background & Education
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with formalized training and expertise in pediatric anxiety and OCD. I completed my undergraduate degree at University of Michigan in Psychology and Communication Studies. I earned my Doctorate in School Psychology (PsyD) from St. John's University, where I developed a deep understanding of how to work with youth in both school and clinical settings. My training focused specifically on evidence-based interventions for anxiety, OCD, and related challenges in children and adolescents. I'm particularly passionate about helping kids who are avoiding school, withdrawing from friends, or struggling with obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors that interfere with their happiness.
